Updated: Aug 17, 2023

Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Riverside and San Bernardino: California 8/9/2023 The United Federation LEOS-PBA on behalf of its affiliated Union LEOSU-CA, LEOS-PBA has successfully negotiated the highest wage increase in the history of this federal contract on behalf of the 500 plus Paragon Systems, Inc Protective Service Officers PSO's working at various federal buildings in Los Angeles, Orange County, & San Bernardino, California.

Presently these Paragon Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Riverside and San Bernardino: California, California PSO's are making $37.92 per hour and $5.25 in their health & welfare rate. Under the newly negotiated contract these California Paragon PSO's will now be making $40.57 per hour and $5.50 in their H&W come October 1st.

"This is the highest wage rate increase Paragon Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Riverside and San Bernardino, California PSO's ever received in this history of this federal contract by any security Union and/or contractor" noted Anthony Rodriguez, California Director for the United Federation LEOS-PBA

"This was a 7.7% wage increase which amounts to a two dollar & sixty five cent ($2.65) increase in our wages which brings the PSO's up from $37.92 to $40.57 per hour plus an additional $0.25 cents in our H&W which brings the PSO's up from $5.25 to $5.50 an hour. In total this was a $2.90 cent raise vs the yearly dollar ($1.00) raises we use to receive under our previous union SPiT-FA". noted Rodriguez.

Prior to this raise the United Federation had negotiated a $2.00 raise plus an additional twenty five cent ($0.25) raise in our H&W on behalf of the Paragon PSO's in Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura, San Luis Obispo, and Santa Barbara, California which totaled a $2.25 per hour increase and a $2.49 cent wage increase plus an additional $0.25 cent raise on behalf of the Paragon PSO's in Riverside and San Bernardino which totaled a $2.74 per hour increase as noted below.

Based on the previous wage increase negotiated by our Union United Federation LEOS-PBA on behalf of our affiliated Union LEOSU-CA, LEOS-PBA these California PSO's received an unprecedented 13% or more increase from October 1, 2022 to October 1, 2023.

Charles Chip Strebeck United Federation LEOS-PBA President noted that "the Paragon PSO's working in Los Angeles, Orange, Ventura, San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, Riverside and San Bernardino: California are now the highest paid Paragon PSO's in the country by far and the only Paragon PSO's in the country making over $40.00 dollars an hour with a new wage rate of $40.57 dollars an hour come October 1st 2023."
Strebeck also noted "that under our competitor security unions SPiT-FA and/or UGSOA the Paragon PSO's are not even making $28.00 dollars an hour. That is a $12.54 or more cent difference. We are very proud on our Unions accomplishments and negotiating skills."

Our Union, United Federation LEOS-PBA is also happy to report that we just filed an election with the National Labor Relations Board to represent the 150 Paragon PSO's in Hawaii, Guam Saipan and American Samoa now presently under contract with David L. Hickey's Union SPiT-FA. Hickey is now trying to get our NLRB petition dismissed based on their frivolous misconduct statement of position. See below documents as well as our attorneys response to SPiT-FA's frivolous misconduct allegations.

Back on June 5th 2023 SPiT-FA suffered another embarrassing loss to our Union, United Federation LEOS-PBA Law Enforcement Officers Security & Police Benevolent Association when 140 Paragon Systems, Inc Protective Service Officers (PSO's) voted by a score of 36 to 18 to leave SPiT-FA and join our Union, United Federation LEOS-PBA. The certification of this NLRB election is still pending after SPiT-FA had filed Objections to the Election on a technicality based on the Employer, Paragon Systems, Inc sending in a voter list with a typeset of 8 vs 10. On March 15th 2023 these Boston PSO's contract expired and to date SPiT-FA has not even begun to start negotiations on behalf of these Paragon Boston PSO's. Based on the above actions by SPiT-FA and their inability to negotiate a new CBA pending the NLRB's decision these 140 Paragon Boston PSO's are in jeopardy of not receiving a wage increase come this October 1, 2023.

SPiT-FA Paragon Boston Local Union President Lisa M Fiore said it best about her own Union, SPiT-FA as noted by her email to us. Please note we changed the name to SPiT-FA from their actual acronyms." I am wondering if you know when the change of guards will take place. SPiT-FA has been CRICKETS which doesn't surprise me so I wanted to know if you could enlighten me.

It has come to our attention that SPiT-FA President Lisa M. Fiore has just recently resigned as SPiT-FA President of Local 545 in Boston leaving NO Executive Board members. Please NOTE Lisa M. Fiore has put out an email in response to SPiT-FA's letter to the Boston Paragon PSO's below.

I write today to announce my resignation as the local union President regretfully. Due to the ongoing situations, I lost my lioness to fight the fight and to move forward within this organization that does not care about its members. I had no backing from our international union, my name has been dragged through the mud, and my integrity and morals have come into question because of the incompetence of our international". ( Referring to the SPiT-FA International Union headed by its President David L. Hickey).
Former Paragon Boston SPiT-FA Local 545 President Lisa M. Fiore.
