Paragon PSO's in Kentucky Receive an Unprecedented $2.70 Wage & H&W Increase plus 2 Extra Holidays

Louisville, Kentucky 6/14/2023 - After a month of negotiations between Paragon Systems, Inc on behalf of Patronus Systems, Inc and the United Federation LEOS-PBA Law Enforcement Officers Security & Police Benevolent Association on behalf of its affiliated union Law Enforcement Security Officers Union ( LEOSU ) over a one year extension agreement, our Union was successful in negotiating an unprecedented $2.70 Wage & H&W increase on behalf of our Paragon Systems, Inc / Patronus Systems, Inc members in Kentucky as well as negotiating two (2) extra holidays Juneteenth and the employees birthday. In addition to the above our Union was successful in negotiating wage increases for secret & top secret clearances posts from $25.23 to $27.73 for secret posts & from $26.42 to $28.70 for top secret posts. We were also successful in negotiating stronger language and better reimbursement rates in regards to traveling for temporary assignments.

The breakdown of the wages amounted to a two dollar and fifty cent ($2.50) wage increase starting July 1, 2023 which brings these Paragon / Patronus Kentucky PSO's from $24.50 an hour to $27.00 an hour and twenty cents ($0.20) additional wage increase in the health & welfare bringing the new H&W hourly wage rate form $4.45 per hour to $4.65 per hour. In addition we added two additional hours Juneteenth and the PSO employees birthday as noted below giving 12 holidays vs 10 holidays.

Charles Strebeck President of the United Federation LEOS-PBA stated "in the beginning of these negotiations Paragon / Patronus wanted to give our members a wage increase of no more than $1.50 per hour wage increase and a $0.10 cent wage increase in the H&W as well as a Secret Post increase from $25.23 to $26.73 & a Top Secret Post increase from $26.20 to $27.70, no additional holidays and for temporary assignments, gasoline expenses on travel shall be reimbursed for all travel that is more than sixty (60) miles from the employee's home".

"With that said, United Federation LEOS-PBA Organizing Director Steve Maritas who was the lead negotiator continued to reject Paragon's / Patronus's offers and in an unorthodox move, Maritas allowed both the Paragon / Patronus membership / employees to communicate directly with Paragon's Lead Negotiator by email to vent their frustrations with the companies offers. In the end Maritas' strategies worked and the Union was successful in negotiating the highest wage & H&W increase they ever had received ($2.70) in one year an unprecedented 10.2% increase on wages alone not including H&W and secret and top secret clearances which was more than any other security Union has ever accomplished on behalf of these Kentucky PSO's" in their history."
