On September 21,2023 the one hundred and two 102 Nuclear Security Officers protecting Lasalle County Generating Station in Brookfield Township, LaSalle County, Illinois, voted by a score of 81 to 1 in favor in joining the United Federation LEOS-PBA Nuclear division National Union of Nuclear Security Officers NUNSO.
The National Union of Nuclear Security Officers now represent 3 of the 6 nuclear facilities run and operated by Constellation Nuclear Security, LLC (“CNS”) formerly Exelon. The other two facilities now under the NUNSO banner include both Clinton Power Station and Braidwood Generating Station.
"We are very excited that the 102 Nuclear Security Officers were united and strong despite the Union-Busting tactics of SEIU Local 1 from Chicago encouraging them to vote for NO Union" stated NUNSO Director Jessie Wordlaw.
Joseph Thompson NUNSO Director noted "that our Union NUNSO is getting stronger and more powerful everyday organizing 3 out of the 6 nuclear facilities in Illinois. "This is evident by the vote count numbers 81 to 1" which are unheard of in NLRB elections today. Presently we are speaking with the other 3 Constellation facilities Byron, Dresden and Quad Cities who all have shown an interest in joining our Union National Union of Nuclear Security Officers NUNSO.
