Florence Arizona - The 330 Akima Global Services LLC detention / transportation officers working at the ICE Detention Center in Florence, Arizona, will have an opportunity to vote for our Union, United Federation LEOS-PBA. The NLRB ballots are scheduled to go out today Friday February 6, 2026 @ 2pm Arizona time and must be returned to the National Labor Relations Board, Region 28 office by close of business on Friday, February 27, 2026.
Presently these 330 Akima Global Services LLC detention / transportation officers are represented by the United Government Security Officers of America UGSOA who have failed to negotiate a new CBA for over a year after ousting their previous union International Union, Security, Police & Fire Professionals of America (SPFPA) who has also jumped on the ballot as an intervenor in this election.
Some of the major issues on why these 330 Akima Global Services LLC detention / transportation officers are looking to change representation to our Union, United Federation LEOS-PBA was the fact that both UGSOA & SPFPA's interest was NOT about representing these 330 Akima Global Services LLC detention / transportation officers but rather they were more interested in funding their Healthcare benefit funds which brought them in approximately $3,843,840 million dollars a year in revenue.
It has been reported by Akima Global Services LLC detention / transportation officers that many of them are missing 401k contributions in their accounts this goes for both unions, UGSOA and SPFPA.
Nuno B. Marques one of the Akima Global Services LLC detention / transportation officers and former SPFPA President of the local union that represented these Akima Global Services LLC detention / transportation officers who was promoting SPFPA in this campaign, recently sent our Union United Federation LEOS-PBA an email stating that he can NO Longer support SPFPA!
Good afternoon gentlemen: I just wanted to let you know that as of this morning I had a lengthy conversation with SPFPA and advised them that our interests are better served with your organization. The previous contract negotiations under their umbrella fell short but also the history of their H&W fund trust doesn't benefit us. History doesn't lie and the majority of staff that was under my previous leadership under SPFPA understand my position of clear choice with LEOS-PBA. Moving forward I personally have to give you guys the opportunity to perform no matter the negative campaigns and disinformation. I am facts based and fair but firm and expect a level of service that I previously provided to my 1200 members. Look forward to seeing you soon. Fraternally yours,
Nuno B. Marques former President of the SPFPA local that represented these 330 Akima Global Services LLC detention / transportation officers.
See what ISS Action Transportation Officer Danny Chavez from Tucson Arizona has to say to the Hawaiian, Guam, Saipan and American Samoa Paragon PSO's who VOTED overwhelmingly in Favor of Joining our Union, United Federation LEOS-PBA, about its former Union, International Union, Security, Police & Fire Professionals of America (SPFPA)

Based on our recent wage & benefit survey it appears that this will be a landslide election in favor of our Union, United Federation LEOS-PBA whereby both UGSOA & SPFPA received ZERO (0) votes to 92 votes in favor of the United Federation LEOS-PBA as noted below.
