“Paragon employees deserve to know the truth.” We couldn’t agree more in Regard to Darryl Hill's Letter.
To Our Brothers & Sisters at Paragon Systems – Los Angeles:
I recently received a deeply misleading and disturbing letter from Darryl Hill, sent on behalf of himself and Carlos Poveda, attempting to take credit for several grievances that have in fact been settled by our UNION — the United Federation LEOS-PBA — on behalf of our members.
Let me be absolutely clear: Hill and Poveda had nothing to do with these grievance settlements. This is not just our assertion — it is supported by our legal counsel, Attorney Jon Axelrod. Please see the enclosed letter from Mr. Axelrod for further clarification.

It is important to note that Darryl Hill has long acted as a proxy for SPFPA President David L. Hickey, even appearing in several SPFPA promotional videos (see enclosed image). Given the language and intent of the letter sent by Hill, it is our belief that Mr. Hickey was directly involved in its creation, as well as in the promotion of a so-called "new" union — which, for all practical purposes, is imaginary.
As a result of this deceptive and potentially unlawful conduct, I have instructed our attorney Jon Axelrod to pursue federal charges in connection with Hill’s and CPSOA’s involvement in this matter.
As CPSOA themselves say, “Paragon employees deserve to know the truth.” We couldn’t agree more. That is why we encourage you to read and share the enclosed legal response from our attorney, and to remain united in standing up for the real union that has fought — and continues to fight — for your rights: United Federation LEOS-PBA.
In one of the grievances Paragon Systems agreed to pay.
1. $6,500 for lost wages.
2. Total of 24 hours added to his sick/personal leave balance and;
3. Total of 8 hours added to his vacation leave balance.
We wish to thank our legal team as well as all of the grievant's in making this a success.
In Solidarity, Charles Chip Strebeck President United Federation LEOS-PBA
I
