An armored truck guard was listed in critical condition Wednesday after being shot outside the Kaiser Permanente San Leandro Medical Center.
As of Wednesday evening, authorities were still searching for the suspect, who shot the guard next to the hospital's emergency room entrance. A suspect description was not immediately provided.
San Leandro police received a call just before 12 p.m. regarding a shooting at the hospital. When officers showed up, they found the guard, who arrived in an armored truck, lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the upper torso.
Police said it's unclear if the guard was dropping something off at the hospital or picking something up.
