United Federation LEOS-PBA Local 52 Leadership and Members worked together with International Representatives Anthony Rodriquez and Local 52 President Yobanny Alvarez to fend off attacks from two unions in an attempted raid of our Paragon Systems, Inc protective service officers (PSO's) unit in San Diego and Imperial Counties. One of the unions California Protective Security Officers Association CPSOA was nothing more than a startup union who had no experience, no members and/or financial resources. Based on our observation and reports from our members we believe CPSOA was created by and/or had direct ties with the previous union, SPiT-FA out of Roseville Michigan, who intervened in this particular election and who lost to our Union, United Federation LEOS-PBA back on November 10, 2020 by a score of 84 to 2.

Throughout this campaign the 210 Paragon PSO's in San Diego unity was their shield against being misled by the other two unions whose only interest in the group was to line their pocket. From the very beginning once the first ballot was read by the NLRB Board agent in favor of our Union, United Federation LEOS-PBA and thereafter the next 20 votes all in favor of our union, the other two unions knew they were in serious trouble and there was no chance for a victory as ballot after ballot was in favor of staying with our Union. In the end our Union received 54 votes while the startup union received just 8 votes and SPiT-FA received just one (1) vote.

One of the attackers, headed by SPiT-FA President David L. Hickey has lost two elections in a row, with this same San Diego Paragon Systems, Inc group. The first Hickey / SPiT-FA loss was on November 10, 2020 by a score of 84 to 2 and then again on July 9, 2024 by a score of 54 to 1.

SPiT-FA President Dave Hickey looks foolish once again as Hickey has no idea on what he is talking about as he continues to misrepresent by providing misinformation on what is really going on in San Diego in one of his newest Podcast YouTube Videos. In this particular YouTube Podcasts video, Hickey is seen and heard congratulating San Diego PSO's about NOT requesting the withdrawal of the pending NLRB petition.

Much to Hickey's surprise the majority of the 210 Paragon PSO's in San Diego had signed a petition demanding the withdrawal of this petition which was affecting our wage negotiations, whereby the Company was reluctant to negotiate a July 1, 2024 wage increase pending this petition, which they refused to withdraw. In the end the Paragon Systems, Inc San Diego PSO's became the highest paid PSO's in the country after our Union wage negotiations concluded and voted in favor of staying with our union by a score of 54 to 1 over SPiT-FA. A KNOCKOUT in the first round giving Hickey / SPiT-FA another embarrassing loss to our Union.

We congratulate our Brothers and Sisters of Local 52 and are honored to continue our service to these hardworking Officers.
