San Diego California 8/27/21 - The Paragon Systems Inc Protective Service Officers PSO's in Riverside, San Bernardino, San Diego and Imperial counties voted overwhelmingly to ratify their new LEOSU-CA Local 52 collective bargaining agreement by a score of 100 to 4. These 257 Paragon Systems Inc Protective Service Officers PSO's made the switch from their former International Union to our Union LEOSU-CA, who for years failed them in both servicing these members and at the bargaining table.
While their former International Union was only able to negotiate a 2% raise equaling a $0.68 cent raise our International Union was able to negotiate a 4% wage increase in the first year of the contract which amounted to a $1.36 wage increase plus a wage increase in their H&W bringing their new health & welfare rate to $4.85 per hour.
Some of the other benefits LEOSU-CA was able to achieve were:
Donning and Doffing pay each day
Increases on Top-Secret and Secret Posts from $2.00 / $1.00 dollars per hour to $4.00 & $3.00 per hour
Health & Welfare paid on all training
New Kaiser Healthcare plan to be an option
Reducing the number of hours to receive healthcare benefits
6 additional bereavement days and additional days to grieve.
Increase in automobile mileage reimbursements
One additional Holiday added • Juneteenth*
Vacation Vesting and Cash out - Cash out of vacation at anytime
Additional Vacation Language including vacation bidding
Better "JUST CAUSE" language
Removal of the 2820 Government Language from the CBA
All suspensions shall be based on an eight (8)-hour day vs based on your schedule.
Removal of Verbal/Written Records in 12 months vs 18 months
Scheduling Training, Temporary Assignments & Overtime Work language was added to better protect our members
Professionalism and Respect language was now added to the new CBA
