Armed Suspect Arrested at Los Angeles Federal Building Represented by United Federation LEOS-PBA


LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) — An armed man was caught by Federal Protective Service inspectors as he tried to enter the parking garage of the Edward R. Roybal Federal Building in downtown Los Angeles, authorities said.


The incident happened at about 1:30 p.m. at the federal building, 255 E. Temple St. Jim Goodwin with the Federal Protection Service, the uniformed security police division of the Department of Homeland Security, said the man was stopped by officers who saw a firearm inside the vehicle. The United Federation LEOS-PBA under our LEOSU-CA division represents the Paragon Systems Inc Protective Service Officers throughout Los Angeles, California as well as San Diego as well as other parts of the country.


United Federation LEOS-PBA President Charles Chip Strebeck noted " We are very proud of these Paragon Systems Protective Service Officers (PSO's) in stopping this event.. The quick thinking of these Paragon PSO's in detecting what was about to possibly happen based on their observation of this armed man trying to enter the Edward R. Roybal Federal Building in downtown Los Angeles prevented another possible mass shooting".
