Boston, Massachusetts 8/21/2024 - On August 21, 2024 our Union, United Federation LEOS-PBA Law Enforcement Officers Security & Police Benevolent Association successfully negotiated a five dollar and twenty eight cent wage and benefit package increase on behalf of the Paragon Systems Inc protective service officers PSO's in Boston, Massachusetts which was the highest wage increase package these Paragon Boston PSO's have ever received.
The following is a breakdown of the Increases our Union negotiated on behalf of these Boston Paragon Systems, Inc PSO's
Current: Armed Security Officer: $30.65
Secret Post $32.15 (includes $1.50 premium)
Top Secret Post $33.65 (includes $3.00 premium)
Effective October 1, 2024:
Armed Security Officer: $34.00
Secret Post $35.50 (includes $1.50 premium)
Top Secret Post $37.00 (includes $3.00 premium)
Article 15 shall be modified as follows:
A. The Employer will make the following health and welfare contributions on all hours worked plus vacation actually taken, up to forty (40) hours per week and up to a total of 2080 hours per
contract year for all Employees covered by this Agreement as described in this Article.
Current: $4.57 will be diverted to the Company Medical Plan and/or Retirement Plan.
Effective October 1, 2024: $5.00 will be diverted to the Company Medical Plan and/or Retirement Plan.
We are also happy to report that our union was successful in negotiating an employer 401k plan with hourly contributions of $1.50 an hour which is unheard of for any Paragon PSO contracts.
F. Effective October 1, 2024: The Company shall make an additional contribution of $1.50 per hour worked for all Employees covered by this Agreement as described in this article to the Company Retirement Plan, up to a maximum of forty (40) hours per week and up to a total of 2,080 hours per contract year.
In total the Boston Paragon PSO's will be receiving $3.35 wage increase plus $0.43 cents in the H&W and $1.50 in Retirement benefits. Total increase = $5.28 which is the highest increase Boston PSO's have received.
"Previously these Paragon Boston PSO's were represented by our rival union SPiT-FA headed by the aging 72 year old Dave Hickey who then voted to switch to our Union on June 5th 2023. Under Hickey's union SPiT-FA these Paragon Boston PSO's used to receive yearly wage increases of 2.5% per hour. Our Union has successfully negotiated a 11.8% wage in the first year and now a total unprecedented wage & benefit increase of 17.2% in the second year". Presently our Union has several pending NLRB elections filed against SPiT-FA which could result in a loss of several hundred members to our Union. The pending elections are as follows:
156 Paragon Systems, Inc protective service officers in Hawaii, Guam, Saipan and American Samoa.
500 Plus Detention & Transportation Officers working for Paragon Professional Services PPS & Asset Protection working at the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) El Paso Processing Center in El Paso, Texas presently represented by SPiT-FA.
86 Patronus Systems Inc protective service officers in Idaho. Recently SPiT-FA President Dave Hickey removed its local SPiT-FA union President Katrina Adams as noted below who is now leading the charge to decertify SPiT-FA to join our Union, United Federation LEOS-PBA.
All full-time and regular part-time security officers performing guard duties as
defined in section 9(b)(3) of the National Labor Relations Act, employed by the
Employer SecTek at FAA Boston Consolidated TRACON in Merrimack, NH 03054 and ARTCC
in Nashua NH.
